The iconic ChoeGo Building in Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) is set to house the city’s first premium boutique hotel, following a hospitality development agreement signed between the GMC Authority and BTCL Private Limited. The 27-room ChoeGo Boutique will occupy the building’s second and third floors, with operations expected to begin in November. The agreement marks the first hospitality partnership signed by the GMC Authority and is seen as an important step in establishing the city’s hospitality infrastructure and standards. BTCL, an established name in Bhutan’s tourism and hospitality sector, currently manages more than 300 hotel rooms, along with restaurants and cafés across major tourism destinations. BTCL Managing Director Thinley Wangchuk Dorji said the company is honoured to be selected as the first premium hotel operator at ChoeGo GMC and pledged its full commitment to His Majesty’s transformative vision for the city. Meanwhile, Tourism Development Group Managing Director Rabsel Dorji said ChoeGo is expected to showcase the quality and standards envisioned for GMC, with BTCL’s boutique hotel playing an important role in setting that benchmark. Envisioned as a mixed-use landmark, ChoeGo will host more than 15 defining companies, bringing together business, hospitality, lifestyle and other services under one roof. The launch of ChoeGo Boutique is expected to add a premium accommodation option to GMC and strengthen Gelephu’s emerging position as a destination for visitors, businesses and investors.
