US technology company Microsoft has released impressive results for the fourth quarter and the full fiscal year. According to the company, this performance was driven by tremendous demand for cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) services, with Azure’s annual revenue crossing the $100 billion mark for the first time. The tech company’s fourth-quarter revenue stood at $90 billion—an 18% increase year-over-year—while operating income rose by 18% to $40.6 billion. On a GAAP basis, net income grew by 31% to $35.8 billion, and diluted earnings per share (EPS) increased by 32% to $4.81. On a non-GAAP basis, net income rose by 22% to $35.3 billion, and diluted EPS increased by 23% to $4.74. During the quarter, Microsoft Cloud revenue grew by 27% to $59.3 billion. Revenue from the Intelligent Cloud segment rose by 32% to $39.3 billion, with revenue from Azure and other cloud services increasing by 43%. Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella said, “We are moving up the cost-to-outcome curve, ensuring that every customer token translates into business results.” He added, “This year, Azure revenue surpassed $100 billion for the first time, and Microsoft 365 Copilot reached over 30 million paid seats, demonstrating the trust customers place in us for their AI transformation.” For the full fiscal year ending June 30, Microsoft reported revenue of $331.8 billion—an 18% increase—while operating income rose by 21% to $155.2 billion. Annual net income rose 31% to $133.7 billion, and diluted EPS increased 32% to $17.95. The company returned $10.2 billion to shareholders through dividends and share buybacks during the fourth quarter.
