Tourist arrivals in Sri Lanka declined by over 1 per cent in the first seven months of 2026 compared to the same period last year, with India once again emerging as the country with the most visitors to the island nation.
More than 338,000 Indians arrived in Sri Lanka, an increase of 21.2 per cent from last year, according to data released by the Tourism Development Authority on Monday.
The 338,000 Indian arrivals from January to July this year were an improvement from 279,122 in the same period last year.
