The Honorable Speaker received a final courtesy call from Ms. Andrea James, a UNICEF representative. Ms. Andrea James outlined the areas of collaboration between UNICEF and the Royal Government of Bhutan, including mental health, child protection, and children’s rights. She also cited a number of initiatives from the 13th FYP, such as the establishment of the Social Protection System for underprivileged populations.
She conveyed her sincere congratulations to Bhutan on their LDC graduation. The Speaker gave Ms. James a little token present in recognition of her selfless service to the people of Bhutan and conveyed gratitude for her commitment and contributions during her time. In May 2023, Ms. Andrea began working for UNICEF in Bhutan.
