Thanks to C4SW, homeowners and builders can now hire local plumbers and electricians at reasonable prices with guaranteed quality, dependability, and service. Due to the belief that foreign labor is more affordable and of higher quality, homeowners have depended on expatriates to complete jobs like water pipe installation and house wiring. By giving local tradespeople a platform to land respectable jobs and guaranteeing homeowners receive dependable, reasonably priced services, the C4SW aims to change this. According to the chairman of C4SW, a lot of TVET graduates have trouble finding work in their field. In comparison to foreign workers, local skilled tradesmen like plumbers and electricians have long been marginalized, but he added that the initiative is a boon to them.
There are currently 216 registered members of C4SW, 185 of whom are certified. There are 68 plumbers and 117 electricians in the network. Many of the skilled workers who were relisted think that local tradespeople are often underappreciated despite having the know-how to work on even major hydropower sites and take on high-quality projects. Members of C4SW claim that the lack of a revolving fund has led to financial difficulties that have impacted the organization’s operations, growth, and long-term viability. C4SW has so far finished 14 projects, hired 261 people at 133 locations across the country, and made over Nu 55m.
