
Agency: At the 11th Meet-the-Press, Education Minister, Yeezang De Thapa, provided updates on the Ministry of Education and Skills Development’s (MoESD) collaboration with Cambridge International, which aims to refine Bhutan’s education curriculum and align it with international standards.
Lyonpo Yeezang De Thapa informed that it is set to move into the implementation phase starting January 2025.
Lyonpo shared insights from Cambridge International, which evaluated Bhutan’s current education system, and said, “Cambridge International has provided valuable insights, noting that our school curriculum up to Grade 8 aligns closely with theirs, that is, Cambridge standards.”
For secondary education, however, the international body recommended specific refinements to enhance alignment, create seamless progression, and introduce diverse pathways for students.
