She also noted that 2023 marks the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations and expressed her intention to further strengthen these ties. In response, Tobgay expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from Japan towards Bhutan and expressed optimism for the continued development of their friendship.
