The residents of Haa donated Nu 1,511,200 to the BHTF. The donation shows the increasing dedication to maintaining Bhutan’s healthcare system and guaranteeing access to necessary medications and immunizations. The money was given to Health Minister Tandin Wangchuk, who also serves as the BHTF chair, by a delegation headed by Haa Dzongdag. The Move for Health initiative’s 12-kilometer trek helped raise the money. Government agencies, corporations, municipal authorities, civil workers, educational institutions, and members of the public all participated in the event. Similar projects have been organized in the past and will continue in the future, according to BHTF officials. But this year’s donation is notable for being among the biggest to date.
The event was organized by the Haa Dzongkhag Administration exclusively to further the goal of BHTF, which is to provide sustainable basic healthcare delivery. Lyonpo Tandin Wangchuk expressed gratitude for the Haa people’s kindness and commitment, saying that their donation would support Bhutan’s healthcare system and guarantee the continuous availability of necessary medications and vaccines. Lyonpo further emphasized the need of spreading knowledge about the mission and goals of BHTF. The significance of cross-sector cooperation in bolstering healthcare systems was emphasized by BHTF leaders. His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo founded BHTF with the goal of securing long-term funding for necessary medications and vaccines to guarantee Bhutan’s healthcare independence. In order to improve healthcare spending, BHTF authorities encouraged Bhutanese communities both domestically and internationally to adopt comparable measures.
