
The first Gyalsung batch completed their three-month National Service training on June 28, 2025, with Passing Out Parades held across four academies. The King thanked Gyalsups, families, Armed Forces, Government, Army, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. His Majesty emphasized Bhutan’s tiny stature in a big and competitive world and urged the young people to uphold virtues that set the country apart from international trends. His Majesty reminded the Gyalsups that every significant national investment, including the Gyalsung program, is done with their future in mind, enabling them to thrive in a world that is becoming more complicated by the day.
2,639 young Bhutanese completed training in Gyalsung, a national service, including Basic Military Training, national education, and leadership development, empowering them to contribute to Bhutan’s peace and progress. New Gyalsups complete training and enter National Duty Phase, volunteering for national programs and humanitarian missions. Second cohort begins training in August 2025.
