Agency: Loden Foundation in collaboration with Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment (MoICE) recently organized a special event called Druk Tshongrig Gatoen (DTG) to promote entrepreneurship in Bhutan.
The festival celebrates the country’s evolving economy and offers a space for sharing ideas and showcasing new businesses. It also highlights the importance of combining traditional values with modern goals, especially focusing on helping women, youth, and underrepresented communities get involved in business.
This year’s theme, “Innovate to Elevate: Knowledge-Driven Entrepreneurship for Social Impact,” emphasizes using knowledge to create positive change in society. The festival serves as a meeting point for innovative thinkers and business leaders to discuss economic and social issues.
A major part of this year’s event is dedicated to the Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC), which aims to shape the future of Bhutan.
Following the recent Bhutan Innovation Forum, where GMC’s vision was discussed, DTG provides another chance for people to learn about the project. The goal is to inform the public and attract potential investors.
At the event, entrepreneurs had more insights on exploring various opportunities within GMC, such as participating in sustainable business initiatives, collaborating on community-focused projects, and accessing resources that support innovative ventures.
On the first day of the festival, there were discussions how entrepreneurs can delve into GMC’s impact on the economy and its sustainability. The discussions highlighted how entrepreneurs can contribute to GMC’s development and benefit from its growth, including access to funding, mentorship, and networking opportunities.
