While on a royal tour of the eastern dzongkhags, His Majesty the King is visiting with local residents and dzongkhag officials. His Majesty spoke to the highland people during his April 9 visit to Merak during Rhododendron Week festivities. His Majesty visited Trashigang on April 10 and gave the dzongkhag officials of Trashiyangtse and Trashigang audiences. His Majesty gave Mongar and Lhuentse dzongkhag officials audiences at Gyelpozhing.
At the Gyalsung Gyelpozhing Academy in Bongderma, His Majesty met with Desuups who were enrolled in the ongoing Gyelpozhing and Gyalsups training courses offered by the Desuung Skilling Program. After that, His Majesty traveled to Bumthang, where he spent the evening meeting with dzongkhag representatives from both Trongsa and Bumthang. The Prime Minister and His Royal Highness Gyaltshab Jigme Dorji Wangchuck accompany His Majesty the King on the Royal Tour.
