In a bid to revive its post-COVID tourism sector, Bhutan has launched a Digital Nomad Visa, allowing international remote workers to live and work in the country for up to one year. The new visa is part of the “Brand Bhutan” initiative to position the nation as a high-value, low-volume destination.
Applicants will need proof of income, a clean background check, and health insurance. Officials say the program is ideal for those seeking tranquility, nature, and a mindful work-life balance.
Indian and Nepali digital professionals have also expressed interest, as Bhutan offers cultural proximity, affordable living, and scenic working environments.
