The Nepali film “Elephants in the Fog” has been selected to represent Nepal at the 99th Academy Awards.
The International Feature Film Selection Committee (Nepal) had received two films for consideration, including “Gauthali.” However, the committee announced that “Elephants in the Fog” (Tiniharu) would represent Nepal at the Oscars in 2027.
In a press release, the committee stated that after a thorough evaluation of both films—based on technical aspects, storytelling style, emotional analysis of characters, artistic execution, and overall film quality—”Elephants in the Fog” was chosen to represent Nepal at the prestigious international awards.
