Prime Minister of Bhutan, Tshering Tobgay, has congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on becoming India’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister. The Bhutanese Prime Minister also commended Mr Modi’s strong advocacy for developing nations and the Global South, describing India as a responsible and influential voice on the international stage. He said the partnership between India and Bhutan has grown stronger under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, with cooperation expanding across several sectors.
Mr Tobgay particularly acknowledged India’s support for Bhutan’s ambitious Gelephu Mindfulness City project, describing it as a reflection of the close friendship and mutual trust shared by the two countries. Extending his congratulations on behalf of the King, the Government, and the people of Bhutan, Mr Tobgay wished Prime Minister Modi continued success in serving India and further strengthening the longstanding friendship between the two nations.
