Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences for the tragic bus accident in Andhra Pradesh, which resulted in at least 14 fatalities and 15 injuries, following a collision between a private travel bus and a tipper truck. An ex-gratia payment of Rs 2 lakhs will be provided to the families of those who died, while the injured will receive Rs 50,000. The incident occurred near Rayavaram at approximately 6:30 a.m. when the bus, belonging to Harikrishna Travels and carrying 35 passengers, caught fire after the collision with the truck near a stone quarry. Most passengers managed to escape the flames, but some are in critical condition, leading to concerns that the death toll may rise. Victims were primarily residents of Kanigiri and Pamuru, with the bus traveling from Hyderabad to Pamuru. The tipper was transporting concrete when the accident happened. Emergency services, including police and firefighting teams, responded promptly, utilizing three fire engines to extinguish the blaze. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed his shock over the incident and has instructed district officials to provide optimal medical care for the injured.
