Bhutan has introduced a special “Digital Remote Work Visa” aimed at attracting professionals to live and work remotely from the country. The move comes as part of Bhutan’s post-COVID strategy to revive its tourism-dependent economy.
Visa holders will be required to show proof of income, accommodation, and health insurance. The country offers peaceful surroundings, stable internet in urban hubs, and the chance to explore Bhutanese culture in a sustainable way.
This is expected to draw interest from international freelancers as well as professionals from India, Nepal, and Bangladesh looking for short-term relocation with a quality lifestyle.
